OUR RESPONSE IN CRISIS
Places, people and opportunities where we can share our faith, hope and love.
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7
FAITH - HOPE - LOVE
Our mission to create identity and atmospheres where God's presence reigns and God's people are made free has not changed. Now more than ever we are finding our place in mission to lead people into a place and an identity where God knows their names and they can come to experience His. It is a place where we dig deeper in faith, broadcast louder our hope in Christ Jesus, and extend our hands generously looking for opportunities to give.
THRESHING FLOOR
In 2 Samuel 24, the Bible speaks about David introducing a value called the Threshing Floor. His investment becomes the altar for the temple. It's a place where we:
(1) Build Intimacy, (2) Pray and (3) Give.
BUILD - In crisis, you have the opportunity to grow. Create a place of exchange where any lie attempting to sabotage your faith is replaced with God's truth. This builds intimacy with our Heavenly Father. Awareness that God knows you, and He desires for you to know Him will form identity in you as a child of the King.
PRAY - Prayer is intimate. It's communion with our Father where we cry out "Abba Father." He hears our prayers, and He responds.
GIVE - There is always a sacrifice when we present ourselves intimately before the Lord. As an offspring to intimacy, we release, invest, sow into as we surrender. We take on the generous character of God. Remember, for God so loved the world that He gave.
During this crisis, build a threshing floor, for it is sacred and holy. Present a life fully surrendered to God, your worship yielded contrite, and the work of our hands extended out generously.
SOUL LANGUAGE
In Joshua 1:9, God instructs him to be strong and courageous. We need to be centered and anchored in God's truth. Do not distance yourself from the Lord. Ignite the intimacy you have with God and find your Soul Language. Rehearse who God was, who God is, and what He said He would do. Your roots must go deep as you maintain communion with God, mentally with your thoughts, emotionally with your heart and socially with His people. James 2:22 states the actions of our faith COMPLETE our faith. In crisis, we have the opportunity to be open letters.
During this time, ask the Lord to help you increase your knowledge of Him, love for Him, and trust in Him.
"God, you are my righteousness, my champion defender. Answer me when I cry for help! Whenever I was in distress, you enlarged me." Psalm 4:1 TPT
GIVE
In crisis, we have an opportunity to be light and salt. It is an open door to share God's love, hope and peace. Look for these opportunities to respond in supernatural ways. Do not let fear have the final say. We have been called to share the love of Jesus Christ with the world. That place of influence begins in your home, in your neighborhood, in your cities and in your church community.
Look for opportunities to serve and care for the people around you. For some, that means donate. For others, that means sow your time and talents. The supernatural gifts we have been given are ignited that we may encourage one another in the Lord. This is how we share God's love with people in need.
It's critical that our soul language, the language that speaks hope, speaks confidence and speaks transformation.
